I TURNED TO ART TO EXPRESS THE CONFLICTING EMOTIONS OF LOSING HOMES, FRIENDSHIPS, AND IDENTITY.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, I moved to Berkeley, California, at the age of five. That would be the first of three international migrations—Moscow, Berlin, and Tübingen were to follow in the next seven years, resulting in a very multicultural upbringing.
I invite you to connect with my themes and my subjects, and encourage you to form your own interpretations and engendering political discussions.

I employ a free and unrestricted painting technique that embraces imperfection. Specializing in contemporary figurative surrealism and portraiture. I aim to challenge social norms and stereotypes, exploring questions of identity, intimacy, and relationships.

ABOUT Me

I like to address a wide range of topics in my body of work. With a background in art therapy, theater painting, and social work, I have developed a huge appreciation for the evocative power that lies in combining a surrealist style with complex topics relating to feminism, gender identity, sexuality, mental health, and death, often grounded in the mundanity of everyday life.
